Our feed net has small mesh openings that slow down the roughage intake for laying hens. Delayed feed intake is fine as long as the bale is eventually consumed. If a bale lasts too long, there is a risk that the chickens will not receive enough fiber-rich roughage. This, in turn, may reduce the impact of fiber on their active digestive function.
